Our guide Emily came and picked us up and we went and did the last few steps required to complete our adoption, We signed and stamped our thumb print on a couple papers, went to the notary office, and then to the police department. I wish I would have taken more pics but everything here is done almost at a running pace with 100 people shoved in around you. We were really just trying not to get swallowed by the crowd;)
When we were finished with all our adoption tasks we asked Emily about taking us to buy some porcelain. The province we are in is famous for porcelain (thank you Tera for that tid-bit of info:). We stopped there and I got a nice set and another piece. Someday when B is big and gets married he can have them to remember where he came from.
Emily ordered us some KFC and they delivered it to our hotel. It was quite a sight to see this teenage boy with a KFC uniform and a big box strapped to him waiting at our hotel lobby when we got there. We were glad to have Emily with us to order our food and then to help us pay him. The language barrier can make things really confusing sometimes. You should hear Emily say Keith. It is how I now address him;) It sounds like Keef or sometimes Kees. It is so funny. She is very pleasant and easy to talk to and I love her because she thinks everything I say is funny. No one in my family ever really thinks I am funny so it's nice when someone laughs at your jokes;)
We really just had a lazy day today. We all took a nap. I am only sleeping a few hours a night it seems like. I don't know why really, It doesn't help that B starts out sleeping between us but then will end up sideways with his feet in my face or he will end up towards the foot of the bed and I feel like I am on guard trying to make sure he doesn't fall off.
We ran out of time to go to the orphanage today but have an appt to go on Wed now. We are looking forward to that and we are supposed to meet B's foster mom too. We are also hoping to get a chance to go to the place were he was found.
I didn't take nearly enough pics today. I will do much better tomorrow I promise. Here are a few from today though.
This where we went to sign our adoption papers. It is just across the road from our hotel,
Here we are driving to one of our appts. The Chinese do not use car seats for their children. It was a little different than what we are used to. I was telling Keith take our pic. This is Brennan's first car ride. He just looked at me and said how do you even think he got to us from the orphanage. I am sure he is right. So I should caption this I guess with Brennan's first ride with his Mommy and Daddy.
Always sucking on his finger. It is nice though. We don't have to worry about losing pacifiers all the time.
I was hoping the buildings in the background would show up in this pic but they didn't. We were on the 26th floor when we were doing our adoption paperwork. It was such a cool view.
Reading his favorite book while mom and dad do some paperwork.
Car riding with my dad
Keith wanted to take a pic with this Chinese soldier statue. Emily took our pic for us. I just love the look on B's face. Almost like how Maggie, Connor, and Sam look at us a lot. Like you guys are so embarassing!
Becoming a Lynch is pretty exhausting apparently. He slept for several hours today. Here he is eating some noodles we made in the hotel room. He was acting so silly. When he doesn't like something he shakes his head NO. It is so cute. We started doing it all the time so now every time I give him a bite of anything he says no no no. He has also been trying to walk more and more all the time. He was taking several steps by himself last night. It was the cutest. He is just getting funnier and more outgoing all the time.
I still can't believe he is ours. What a perfect little boy. He is loving to rough house with dad and cuddle with mom. He is getting it all figured out. We are holding him close and thanking God always for this opportunity he has given us.
Mag, Connor, and Sam hope you guys have a good day at school. We are counting down the days we have left in China before we can be back home and loving on all of you too;) Love you all.
