Gotcha Day

Well....  Yesterday was a big day.  When we arrived in Nanchang and found out we were getting Brennan we decided to go to Walmart and get some baby supplies before we got him.  Its about 15-20 minute walk to Walmart.  We got our stuff, came back to the hotel, and showered.  I had about an hour to wait by the time we had done all these things.  I set down to blog about our previous day.  It was about 2;45 and they were supposed to bring him at 3 when we heard a light knock on the door.  We were caught off guard.  I went to the door and there he was.  Just as perfect as he was in the pictures.  I expected myself to be more emotional but I think it was all just so rushed I didn't have time to really process what was happening.  Lots of babies will cry when they are handed to their new parents (sometimes even for days).  Who can blame them? It would have to be terrifying to be handed over to complete strangers.  Brennan didn't cry at all.  In the 24 hours he has been ours I don't think he has cried more than 2 minutes total.  I held him and he was fine.  He was a little unsure about Keith at first but they have quickly became buddies.  He thinks Keith is soooo funny.  He laughs all the time at Keith,  I think every part of his body is ticklish.  He sucks his index finger all the time too.  It is so adorable.  Last night he woke up around 4 am and I picked him up and held him and he went right back to sleep,  I laid him in between Keith and I.  His finger kept falling out of his mouth so Keith had to help him hold it in.  It was so cute.  It's so strange to think yesterday I was just dreaming of what he would be like and now he is here.  We love him so much already.  He is so chunky.  He is actually underweight for his age but he is solid.  It is so cute but hard on the back and arms.  I should have prepared my muscles better;)  Needless to say so far so good.  Tomorrow we will be doing our official adoption paperwork and hopefully we will be allowed to see the orphanage.  I will try and post again tomorrow.  Maggie, Connor, and Sam we love you and can't wait for you to meet Brennan.  You guys are going to love him.  He is so goofy just like the rest of us;)

Now on to the picture overload!
This was right after we got him.  Our guide had left and I was like Keith go get her.  We didn't even get a picture. We followed her down to lobby and got this picture.

Here is B after his first bath.

The first night we had him we took him out for a walk.  He was so intrigued with all the sounds and sights he never once laid back.  He was sitting straight up looking around the whole time.  It was hilarious.

These guys were worn out!

This was his first smile.  He loves his daddy.  He wants mom to hold him and love him when he is tired but he knows who to go to for fun!

Just being goofy waiting on the elevator.

Breakfast buffet time.

This was his first trip to McDonalds.  He was quite a fan of the french fry;)

More cuteness to come soon.  Love you all!
